Silica sand is produced when earth that contains silica sand is separated by ''washing '' with the earth with water to remove clay / impurities / gravel etc. The silica sand is then graded for silica content. To obtain higher silica content will require further ''washing'' to remove even more impurities like sand . Silica sand will then be stored in the open waiting for shipment to buyers .
